ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1962 , Shreejan Rajbhandary is a self taught artist working mainly on painting and sculpture. He had a formal training in 'ceramics' from the then HMG's Department of Cottage Industries and private apprenticeship from his father late Mohandhar Rajbhandari.
He has participated in National and International Art Exhibitions since 1985 and involved in several Art Events for more than 25 years. Some prestigious International Art Exhibitions namely : Osaka Triennale , Japan, 2001, Hyogo International Competition of Painting, Kobe, Japan, 2005, Beppu Asia Biennale of Contemporary Art, Japan, 2005, Beppu Asia Contemporary Art Exhibition, Japan, 2003, Asian Art Biennale, Dhaka, Bangladesh n 1999,1997,1992,1991 and 3rd Asian Art Show, Fukuoka, Japan. He had 5 solo Art shows nationally and internationally till now, had won several awards namely : Best, First and Third Prize in the National Art Exhibition NAFA, Nepal in the year 1985, 1989 and 1999 respectively.
He is founder and acting member of nation's first ever Nepal Water Colour Society. He is visiting faculty in KU, School for Arts Centre for Art and Design, WLC College Nepal and AIDC Lead by Design. Currently he is working as a free lance artist and lives in Kathmandu Nepal.
Artist Shreejan Rajbhandary will talk about the insights and techniques of water color medium in his works and share his experiences for more than 25 years .
