Near Wild Heaven Voice from the Mountain

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yuko Akiba studied photography, and then worked within commercial photography industry in Tokyo. From 1985 started working as a freelance photographer in England and Japan. She arrived in Kathmandu in 1990. Yuko is fascinated by the splendid landscapes, ethnic diversity and rich culture of Nepal. Her eye for nature and culture comes across in visual images that echo from the mountains the real wild heaven Park Gallery

“As I travel around Nepal, I seem to recollect that I have been in these places long ago. The journeys that I make seem to bring to me some sort of ancient remembrance of people and places. I feel an affinity for the people I meet, the street scenes, the buildings, a gleam in the night, the scent of the morning1 which transcends boundaries like space and time. Spirit of Emotions

The series of formless non figurative (Arupan), semi abstract paintings expresses the emotion and inner states of mind rather than what physical world look like. Ramesh Khanal’s paintings are non objective mindscapes art is the abstraction of a physical motif. Using bold heavy oil paints and acrylics, he has expressed his emotions through surprising colours composed of energy therefore as formless vapours or perhaps formed in a way that one cannot see is depicted in his paintings.

Beside his profession as sport psycologist (trained in Germany) 1989, journalist in local Nepali magazines, Ramesh Khanal was trained in art under Late Artist R.N. Joshi in 1973.He had several exhibits in his walks of life and participated in international shows as well, published number of articles in the mother tongue nepali newspapers in the field of art. Currently he is actively involved as an art activist in the art critic society and Artist Society of Nepal.
